Spain

Spain has over 2.9 million acres planted—making it the most widely planted wine producing nationbut it is the third largest producer of wine in the world, the largest being France followed by Italy. Finoteca is inspired by our deep passion for authentic wine and food: natural and territorial.

Our Philosophy

The philosophy behind the selection of Finoteca can be seen  as a sort of a quest of authenticity, quality and character in the wines. According to use nowadays the quality is actually more a starting point, then a point of arrival. What we are interested to feel  a part it, is the soul in a wine,  its connection to a certain area and its traditions. The terroir. And the character of the vingeron that has made it. We believe that behind a great wine there are always 3 elements: a great terroir, a great variety and a great person. In our selection we have given preference to mostly autoctonous single grape wines rather then blends as we believe they express better the unique character of the terroir. We have also reserved a special space for the wines made of old vines, in which, when cultivated properly, we find much more deepness and complexity. All our producers work naturally in the vineyards and in the cellar as we believe that great things can be done only following Nature, not contrasting it. All our producer are small, as we believe that small are the new big.

Wines

A selection of natural artisan wines coming from all over Italy and Spain. Both Italy and Spain are very rich in terms of divesity of climate, terroir and varieties and offer a large and exciting range of "experiences in the glass" for the wine lover. The selection is based on mostly grapes as the italian nebbiolo, sangiovese, vitovska, ribolla, nerello mascalese, nerello cappuccio, cannonau, barbera etc and spanish as tempranillo, albarino, verdejo, garnacha, macabeo, parellada, mencia and others. All the italian and almost all the spanish  wines are being fermented with their natural yeasts, vinfied without filtrations and with as less interventions as possible. In the selection was recentrly introduced also another big protagonist of the world wine scene- Georiga, cradle of wine and viticulture. With its 525 local grapes Georgia is considered to be the richest area in terms of biodiversity. The georgian wines selected by Finoteca are all vinfied according the traditional georgian method: in qvevri ( clay vessels) burried in the ground, a tradition dating back to about 8000 years ago. You can taste our Rkatziteli, Saperavi, Kisi: ancestral wines with exotic names, that will bring you far away, with tastes and flavours from other, ancieint times..
